One Woman Arrested For Attacking Another In Roadway

Law enforcement officials arrested a local woman on Friday for attacking the mother of a child she believed was urinating on the roadside.

Jessica LeeAnn Perry, age 40, of 1212 Ethridge Redhill Road, was arrested on assault charges around 7:45 p.m.

Perry told deputies that she had noticed a male standing on the roadway urinating, and that she “…yelled for him to stop.” She said that when he did not comply, she walked to the roadway to confront him. She said that she then became engaged in an argument with the mother of the twelve year old boy.

When the reporting deputy arrived at the scene, he reports that another deputy was in the process of separating the two women. He said that the victim, a forty-two year old Lawrenceburg resident, was standing beside her car, her nose bloody.

The victim reported that they had stopped to retrieve a cap that had blown off of her son’s head. While they were doing so, she said Perry confronted, then attacked her.

She told deputies that she had only fought back to defend her son and herself. She said that Perry had struck her on the nose and pulled out some of her hair. Deputies report finding the hair lying on the road.

Perry was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where she was jailed on the assault charge. She is scheduled to answer the charge in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on August 20, 2013.
